Shrimp Care Standards
These baseline recommendations will be expanded into species-specific guides as the catalog grows.
Before livestock arrives
Use a mature, cycled aquarium with stable temperature and mineral content. Avoid large parameter swings and confirm that ammonia and nitrite are zero before ordering.
Acclimation
Temperature-match the unopened bag, then use a controlled drip acclimation process. Do not add shipping water to the aquarium. Detailed arrival instructions will be included with livestock orders.
Core Neocaridina range
- Temperature: generally 68–76°F
- GH: generally 6–10 dGH
- KH: generally 2–6 dKH
- pH: generally 6.8–7.8
- Stable, established biofilm and gentle filtration
Feeding
Feed lightly and remove excess food. A mature shrimp aquarium should also provide natural biofilm, botanicals, and grazing surfaces.
